High and ultra-high voltage training laboratory
The high and ultra-high voltage training laboratory in room B102 of the Power Engineering Department is designed to study the physical processes occurring in electrical circuits at voltages from tens to hundreds of kilovolts, as well as to master the methods of testing and diagnostics of high-voltage equipment.
The laboratory is equipped with installations for generating pulse, alternating and direct voltages, measuring equipment, models of high-voltage insulators, cable lines and transformers.
The main areas of work:
– generation and measurement of high voltage;
– testing of electrical insulating materials and equipment;
– analysis of breakdown processes, partial discharges and overvoltages;
– modeling of emergency modes in high-voltage networks.
The laboratory is used for laboratory classes, scientific research and qualification training of students. It forms in future specialists stable skills in working with equipment used at substations and ultra-high voltage power transmission lines.
